"If you want to splurge, why not try the luxurious Amanpulo Resort on ultra-exclusive Pamalican Island. Amanpulo is the idyllic retreat for a rich and famous clientele who seeks peace and privacy. Amanpulo Resort in Palawan Philippines was designed by Filipino architect Francisco Mañosa, was built in such a way as to give its privileged few the impression that they are alone on the island.
After and hour by private plane, you will arrive at a small and elongated green island, set on an iridescent beryl and azure sea, fringed with the purest of sands. The welcome upon arrival is warm and personalized: champagne and canaés are served and a personal golf cart-to be used for going around the resort-is placed at your disposal. Your own personal attendant appears as soon as you call him; you will be constantly reminded that there are 250 people here ready to serve a mere 100 guest!
Within the Club House are the reception area, the bar, and the restaurant. The reception area, immense and impressive, is all in wood with narra floors and lauan columns and ceilings. It opens out to a terrace with sliding panels, facing the ocean. Rattan and coconut wood furniture enhance the surroundings, while ornate wood pieces from Mindanao and wicker from Palawan decorate the adjoining rooms.

The casitas or guesthouse, discreetly hidden in vegetation, are perfectly private. You can choose to stay in the beach casitas which have the best location along the beach; in the tree top casitas nestled in the branches of large trees; or in the hillside casitas perched on the hill's summit, offering a spectacular view of the sea.

All the accommodations are extra ordinary in terms of both size and luxury. The rooms are huge-at least 65 square meters-and bright because of immense picture windows. Beige walls, polished wood floors, interior shutters, designer rattan furniture and beautiful accessories crafted locally, complete the interior design.

The casitas have two comfortable divans at an angle along the picture windows of the dining room-where you can have your meals served-while listening to music. A vast bedroom, with a king-sized bed, has all the possible amenities that you can think of. A dream bathroom of marble and wood is complete with a dressing room, two sinks, a bathtub and a separate shower.
The picture windows open onto a slightly elevated wooden deck. Soft mattresses are strewn here, inviting you to watch the sunset-as spectacular as everything else in Amanpulo. Each casita looks out to a private garden, where a hammock swings gently between tow coconut trees. A private path leads to a part of a fabulous deserted beach where two deck chairs and a parasol await you.

Amanpulo Resort has a superb, lagoon-type swimming pool bordered with bougainvillea. After a swim, you can lie down on huge mattresses scattered in the open-air cabanas.

Snorkeling in the beautiful coral reef encircling the island is breathtaking. The spot is accessible from the beach and visibility in the water is excellent. Diving, however, is less interesting.
